Mr Edgar Battye was also deputy head master at Slim School, Cameron Highlands, Malaya. He used to tease me about my mother being Maltese.

Welcome back Marie. When was he in Malaya? He taught at the Dockyard Technical College before Tal Handaq. He stayed in Malta after retiring but, sadly, died in 1975.

Edgar was a family friend I remember many happy visits to his home in Marsascala,1960-63 , he died the same year as my dad ,
