I could never quite understand why this should symbolise freedom. Malta rightly gained her independence in 1964 and thereafter the continued presence of British military establishments was a matter of financial negotiation. The bluff was first called in 1972 and finally seen in 1979. I suppose the answer is a seven letter name beginning with M. But we mustnt get political .......

I agree, it doesn't really seem a very appropriate name does it! Perhaps it just made someone feel better!
