When I first arrived in Malta early 1952 my sisters and I had to attend schooling in Valletta before attending Tal Handaq and Verdalla, I presume to await term start, in a building such as this -could it indeed be this building??

Can't find any trace of there being a school, Robin. It was built in 1862, used as barracks or RN/RM families quarters and is now social housing.

I do not believe it was a school as such more of a reception class - I do recall coming out one day with my mother and sisters on our way to the bus terminus there was a demonstration march down Kingsway 'British Pay Up and Go' where one drunken sailor produced some coins and gave it to the leader of the demo and they carried him shoulder high cheering frantically.
