Note Verdala School on the skyline! The school hall block is just to the left of the wireless mast(?) right foreground in this photo. The flat area between that and the old classroom block is the playground and in the middle of the playground our favourite palm tree can JUST be distinguished!

Never, in the field of human nostalgia, has so much been lavished, by so many, on one palm tree! I do hope the developers dont cut it down!.

OK, OK! - just because Tal Handaq didn't have one (did it?!) don't begrudge us our bit of nostalgia!! We understand that it's due to stay - at least nothing appears on the plans for that part of the site! Incidentally it is now VERY tall and VERY thin and seems to have two sturdy offspring! (See Verdala site, 'New Style Gallery', 2005 reunion section.)

That's right Teach ,you tell them ! Leave 'our' Verdala Palm alone !

Alas no! We poor souls had to make do with a spreading Carob by the flagpole outside the Admin Block. However there may have been a TH Palm at one time. See this photo though I'm not sure exactly where it was taken.

OK admin, that was POTENTIALLY a very splendid palm tree to rival anything Verdala produced - I wonder what happened to it! Jane, sorry I didn't give you credit for the photo - but we'd both better be careful on here. We're on shaky ground as we're both trespassing! (Well, OK, at least your brother was at TH!) .........Tiptoes silently away!..........

Yeah, the palm tree's ok (see also Les Hutton's 1945 photo), but just look at that smart little Nissen Hut on the bastion opposite the lift.

I'm not rising to that bait again Exclamation
