This picture is a bit of a mystery! In 1957 I lived on Hookham Frere Street which must be where the houses on the right are. The roof of my friend's flat overlooked this garden BUT the roof was almost on a level with the elevated walkway - certainly not at the height the houses appear to be here! Can anyone explain?! Incidentally this walkway appeared in a TV programme a couple of years ago but in a very dilapidated state. Sad eh! (Of course we recognise the residents as TRHs in 1949!)
