"....Mgarr is much changed as the improvements take place. The new marina is up and running with lots of new pontoons to allow berthing of super yachts. They have just announced the new fees for next year (2012) which are almost double the current rate. A lot of people have already decided to move to other countries. Currently nobody is allowed to park in Mgarr, trailers and boats are not permitted either. This is to allow the work on rebuilding the road, new underground car park, toilets etc. Currently it is absolute chaos and looks like a huge disorganised building site. As a consequence nobody is allowed to work on boats other than the big Lampuki vessels which are too big to be taken out of the harbour on trailers. I wanted to have work done by the mechanic in the harbour but I was refused permission. Now she is parked round the corner from my house in a field which is actually quite handy and saves travelling to Mgarr every day.

The refurbished Dghajsa tal-Latini will also be moved on to a permanent covered display.
