A film for April Fools179 viewsBlack Eagle - possibly the lamest film made in Malta (or anywhere), despite Van Damme's and Kosugi's best (or worst) efforts. Not made as a comedy but laughable in every way, redeemed only by the scenery (but of course no extras available from TH to save the day), 1988.

Triton Fountain 1158 viewsNot quite sure which album to put this in, but Then and Now seems appropriate as we are all no doubt familiar with how the area around the fountain used to look, and here it is now. The shot is a screen grab from the livecam mounted on top of The Phoenicia. What an improvement! And with a new twist on the selfie, that's my wife and I sitting on the low wall, bottom right. Ivan

Cunard Hovercraft in Grand Harbour, 1967122 viewsBetween 24 February 1967 and 10 May 1967, Cunard's RMS Sylvania carried British Hovercraft Corporation's SRN-6 type hovercraft 024 on board during her cruises in the Mediterranean from Gibraltar. The BHC was trying to interest the governments of various countries bordering the Mediterranean in purchasing hovercraft, and to give government officials a practical demonstration of the hovercraft's capabilities. It was put into the water, using the ship's gear, at various ports and sent on demonstration runs. The hovercraft was not there to provide sight-seeing trips for cruise passengers, although occasional short trips for passengers were made 'around the bay' between the official runs. The venture proved unsuccessful and was not repeated.
