Triton Fountain 2184 viewsFor those who are unaware of the livecam on the roof of The Phoenicia I have been trying unsuccessfully to include a link here, but if you Google "Live Cam Floriana - The Triton Fountain" you will find it. There are other views, too - Tigne, St George's Square, Grand harbour etc.IvanOct 27, 2019

Triton Fountain 1163 viewsNot quite sure which album to put this in, but Then and Now seems appropriate as we are all no doubt familiar with how the area around the fountain used to look, and here it is now. The shot is a screen grab from the livecam mounted on top of The Phoenicia. What an improvement! And with a new twist on the selfie, that's my wife and I sitting on the low wall, bottom right. The Pit, entrance tunnel509 viewsAfter attempts in 2013 and 2017 and again last week (October 2019) I still can’t get full access to The Pit. Nice people running the military bookshop, but won’t allow me to go down as they have lots of artefacts stored there pending refurbishment to make a museum. However at least I got further than last time. The sloping tunnel remains very familiar, although the steps and smooth concrete sidewalks were not there when we opened the place in summer 1965.IvanOct 26, 2019

More dinghy racing, circa 1965200 viewsSwordfish from Garrison Club in Marsamxett. Sail no.174 in centre.
Navy dentist Jerry Gardner (RN Tower Road clinic) sailed 175 (actually a Navy boat from St Angelo) and lavished much attention on her with gleaming mirror finish. He kept her at MGSC and constantly beat the Pongos. In retaliation he was disqualified for not wearing the correct "15" mark on the sail. Sour grapes or what !adminJun 09, 2019
