Australia Hall, Pembroke.582 viewsThe Australia Hall was opened in 1915 for the benefit of the servicemen stationed at Pembroke Barracks. It was erected by the Australian Branch of the British Red Cross Society. The Australia Hall lasted well but closed down in the mid 1990's. A fire destroyed the barrel vaulted roof circa 2000 but the sturdy stone walls survive intact.

Sheer Bastion519 viewsThe Shearlegs or Sheerlegs (spelling seems optional ) or Macina.
This iron version replaced the venerable wooden one of the Knights in 1864.
It lasted until 1927 when replaced by Crane Lighter No.4.
Are those the anchors which ended up in Anchor Bay?
