Wreck of the Adjutant, Tigne 1884.524 viewsThe British steamship Adjutant, was bound from Calcutta to London with a general cargo. On the morning of January 4th, 1884, when off Fort Tigne, Malta, she was driven ashore in a gale and became a total wreck. The tug Escort endeavoured to render assistance but without avail. Of the Adjutant´s crew five men were drowned, the captain and all the officers being among the survivors.
