Ah, what we used to do was wait until the mates merry men had washed down the decks then blow tubes. Laughing
Perhaps a little more fan might have been in order!!

On well regulated ships, you had to ask permission to blow tubes which wasn't given until we had got the wind right. Wink

.... and after a few cans of Tiger, the wind was always right.

By altering course for 20 minutes or so, whilst the Gingerbeers purged their tubes.
