Coronation school party at Verdala 2nd June 1953. Me bottom right half hidden by Union Jack. Younger Brother (now deceased) hiding behind hands. Both of us went on to Tal Handaq 58-61.

Great photo - but was it really taken at the school? Nothing looks familiar! I wonder who the teacher was?!

Can't testify 100% to precise location, only the event sixty five years ago on 2nd June. Maybe we were transported off somewhere for the party. Photograph appears professionally taken, I asume at the behest of school. I hope one or two ex Verdala junior may recognise themself and post a comment. Dad was on the Forth, a more or less permanent fixture at Msida Creek but was sent back to UK to take up a position in the Fleet Review.
