The four figures with the car are - Joyce Rippin, needlework teacher at Tal Handaq, Ian Merrilees, doing his National Service on the C-in-C's flagship HMS Surprise, Liz Keating from Ireland who was teaching in a Maltese school and Joe Mardel, Admiralty Civil Engineer.

You can't see much of the car here - but you could hear it coming! Joe attached a gharry bell under the well of the passenger seat which the passenger could ring - and frequently did! I still have it somewhere - I'll bequeath it to you in my will Martin (if I remember!!)

Salmon pink surely? Splendid shot - 100E, two tone Minx?, split screen Morris, taxi, bus and the Eagle all in one.

Who dented the rear wing, young Phillip? Probably 'im sitting on the boot (unless it was one of his girlfriend's pupils giving vent to their frustration!!) Yes prefect salmon (or apricot) would be much more accurate but someone christened it orange and that stuck! Whatever it was called and however lovely it is for flowers or clothes, it was an AWFUL colour for a car!!

Does anyone recognise Miss Rippin (needlework) on the left?!

I am greatly honoured Liz - but reckon you will outlive me!! You haven't seen my new toy(s) yet but they are fitting recipients - 1954 Riley and 1954 Austin A30 (couldn't quite get the 1952 models that would have been the same age as me).
